Tingdene Racecourse Marina Windsor has become the first marina on the River Thames to achieve Clean Marina accreditation. The Yacht Harbour Association gave the award on March 28, 2025. The milestone highlights Tingdene’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility in the marine industry.

The TYHA Clean Marina programme is designed to promote best practices in environmental protection, ensuring that marinas operate without contributing to water pollution.

To gain accreditation, Racecourse Marina Windsor successfully met rigorous sustainability criteria, which included refining waste management systems, enhancing emergency procedures and engaging visitors in sustainable practices.

Jonathan White, General Manager of TYHA, expressed his excitement about marinas striving to protect UK waters: “Tingdene Marinas and their team at Racecourse Marina deserve huge congratulations for their hard work and efforts in achieving the TYHA Clean Marina Accreditation.”

Racecourse Marina is 500 yards upstream from Boveney Lock and is accessible via a short millstream. The marina is located near popular towns and landmarks such as Cookham, Cliveden, Marlow and Henley-on-Thames, making the location an excellent destination for cruising.

Richard Birch CMM, Senior Operations Manager at Tingdene Marinas, credited the marina’s team: “This achievement is the result of months of dedicated work by the Racecourse Marina team. From refining our emergency procedures to improving waste management and engaging visitors in sustainable practices, we have examined every aspect of our operations to ensure compliance with Clean Marina standards. I want to personally thank Mark Pearce, General Manager, and the entire marina team for their tireless efforts in meeting the requirements.”
