Rossport Marina in Ontario, Canada, will be temporarily closed for a 10-week period starting July 2, 2025, to accommodate refurbishment and demolition projects aimed at enhancing safety and infrastructure. The closure is scheduled to conclude on September 15, 2025.

The upgrades are necessary to meet regulatory permit requirements for in-water construction activities and to ensure long-term safety for the public and boating access.
At present, only two transient docking spaces are available due to significant deterioration of the marina’s east-west wharf. Limited docking is also available along the exterior of the north-south section. A limited quantity of seasonal boat slips is still available for rent, with a maximum length of 15-metre (50-feet).
The planned work includes the removal of the dock’s east-west section, stabilisation of the north-south section, underpinning of the marina building and repairs to the boat launch area. A new foundation will also be installed for the boat launch dock.

“The Marina Board understands the inconvenience boaters and others will experience during this temporary closure. Our goal is to ensure the safety of the dock and upgrade our infrastructure for the future,” said Cathy Collinson, Marina Board Chair and President. “Adhering to the permit requirements for ‘in-water’ work compels us to complete the project during the summer months.”
The Marina Board expressed appreciation for the community’s understanding and cooperation during the closure and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a safer, more efficient marina experience once the works are complete.
