Rolec and Metpow have announced a partnership to introduce a new smart solution for marinas and parks. The collaboration merges Rolec’s LoRaWAN hardware and Metpow’s software to automate utility services and streamline guest and operator experiences.
Advanced smart utility system for marinas and parks
Rolec is a global manufacturer of outdoor electrical equipment and Metpow is a specialist in wireless utility management software. The new Rolec-Metpow system delivers wireless, app-enabled utility management designed for ease, efficiency and environmental responsibility.
The smart solution offers automatic billing, consumption monitoring and optimised operations. The system can be accessed via Metpow app, which promotes transparency and self-service.
In addition, the collaborative system monitors and remotely manages utility data from any device that is suited for both small parks and large marina networks. The system also supports Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals through responsible consumption tracking and operational efficiency.
Key features of the Rolec powered by Metpow system include:
- Automated metering & billing: MID-compliant metres ensure accurate usage data and simplified billing via the Metpow app.
- Remote monitoring & real-time alerts: 24/7 health monitoring for system faults. Operators receive instant updates on unusual activity or breaker trips.
- Efficiency controls: Set usage limits to reduce waste and encourage responsible resource use.
- Wireless connectivity: Functions independently without Wi-Fi or 4G networks for uninterrupted performance.
- Easy installation & scalability: Adaptable across multiple sites with minimal setup.
- Revenue recovery through service charges: Enables OFGEM-compliant revenue recovery through added service charges.

The system is scheduled for launch in March 2025, with pilot installations and operator training currently underway.
