Spanish marina group Ocibar has acquired a 25% stake in Marina d’Arechi in Salerno, Italy. The move marks Ocibar’s first expansion outside of Spain and aims to support the marina’s future development. The remaining 75% of the shareholding remains with the Salerno-based Gallozzi Group, which originally designed, built and has operated the marina.

Marina d’Arechi is located 25 miles from Capri at the gateway to the Amalfi Coast. The marina offers 950 berths for vessels ranging from 10 to 100-metre and features year-round mooring, technical services and convenient access to the recently inaugurated Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport.

According to Ocibar CEO Antonio Zaforteza, the alliance will unlock new opportunities for Marina d’Arechi and expand the brand’s Mediterranean portfolio. “Marina d'Arechi is one of the great examples of success in marina development in the Mediterranean and still has significant growth potential. Our alliance will further enhance this marina and integrate it into a unique value proposition for its customers and those of the various Ocibar marinas."

Ocibar currently manages over 3,500 moorings and more than 55,000 square-metres of commercial space across six locations in Spain, including Port Tarraco, Port Adriano, Marina Port Valencia, Botafoc Ibiza and Marina Santa Eulalia.

According to the CEO of the Gallozzi Group and of Marina d’Arechi, Agostino Gallozzi, “We had contemplated expanding the shareholder base of Marina d’Arechi and are very happy to have Ocibar joining us with a 25% participation, based on shared values and principles of business ethics. Our partnership will propel Marina d’Arechi into a new phase of development.”

Marina d’Arechi is planning significant investments to increase its berthing capacity and improve its service infrastructure. Plans include the development of a hotel to support growth in tourism in Salerno.

The addition of Marina d’Arechi to Ocibar’s portfolio is expected to enhance its international position while creating synergies across the network of marinas the company operates in the Mediterranean.
