Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, conducted an in-depth review of several ongoing development projects across New Alamein City and the broader North West Coast. The review, coordinated with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), is part of the government's strategy to accelerate urban expansion and improve infrastructure along Egypt's Mediterranean shoreline.

Marina 8 plan

El-Sherbiny reviewed updates on the New Ras El Hekma City, West Ras El Hekma, Samala, Alam El Roum, West of Dabaa and other developments.

New Ras El Hekma area

  • Land handovers, infrastructure works and ongoing construction.
  • Advancements in potable water systems, irrigation networks and the development of hotels and administrative offices.

Shams El Hekma Area and Ras El Hekma

  • Roadworks and utility execution like sewage, electricity and water systems.
  • Residential areas, service facilities and commercial and investment zones.
  • Allocated lands for residents of Ras El Hekma for urban transition.

West of Dabaa

  • The urban expansion project includes an allocation for existing residents, compensation framework and a master plan.
  • Infrastructure such as potable water and wastewater networks, roads, power supply and service buildings. 

Marina 8

  • A flagship tourist village with 179 feddans including. Chalets and villas are distributed across 243 buildings, in total of 917 residential units.
  • Utility installations such as water, sewage, irrigation, roads and electrical works.
  • Offers a theatre, cafeteria, administrative buildings and associated infrastructure.

New Marina Lake and Lagoon:

  • Offers an underwater tunnel, lake systems, pump stations and pipeline networks.

“M8 by the Lake”

  • Includes 1,183 villas and apartment units

New Alamein City

  • Construction timelines of the projects such as the Mazarine Compound, the Latin District, beach tower phases one and two, Downtown towers and Housing for All Egyptians units.

El-Sherbiny’s review also included the Marina Alamein Tourism Centre and upgrade plans for the Marina Alamein Tourism Centre.

El-Sherbiny emphasised the importance of establishing clear timelines for the completion of the projects and stressed the need for consistent monitoring to ensure that each development meets quality standards and progresses at the required pace.
